The Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal (CNRS-Université de Bordeaux,
France) has an open post-doctoral experimental position for the
formulation and study of self-assembled structures of plasmonic particles.

*Project*

The job offer is part of the Nanodiellipso project funded by the French
National Research Agency (ANR). The global aim of this project is to
improve the techniques of characterization of nano-structured materials
by spectroscopic ellipsometry. Conventional models used to analyse
ellipsometric data are unconcerned with the underlying nano-scale
structuration of the samples under study, a situation at odds with the
fast-paced development of new materials comprising various nano-objects
and structures. The Nanodiellipso research program therefore focuses on
proposing and validating new approaches which will enable the
determination of small-scale structural features of materials from
ellipsometric analysis. Within this programme, the proposed
post-doctoral program will aim at fabricating nano-structured materials
including metallic and/or dielectric nanoparticles, with a
well-controled structure. It will include the synthesis of
nanoparticles, the surface chemistry modification to control their
functionalization, the formulation of hybrid materials with organic
material and the detailed structural study of the final nano-composites.

*Profile*

We are seeking a dynamic young scientist with a PhD in
physical-chemistry or chemistry of polymers and/or colloids. A knowledge
of surface chemistry and/or scattering techniques relevant for colloid
science will be of particular interest.
